There’s a new name changing the way New Zealand couples plan a wedding, and CM has its eye firmly on it.
Meet Slay My Day, the Queenstown-founded wedding platform created by wedding professionals Haley Keals and Carla Court.
Originally launched as a nationwide directory connecting couples with vendors and venues, the platform is now taking its next step with the launch of its Hire & Recycle Marketplace.
And the timing feels right.
As couples become more considered about what they spend, where they spend it and what happens to everything after the wedding, Slay My Day is offering a smarter alternative to the traditional buy-it-for-one-day approach.
The new marketplace allows couples to hire, buy and resell wedding pieces in one place. Think designer bridal gowns, décor, furniture, signage, styling pieces and event essentials, alongside vendor discovery and planning tools.
It’s particularly interesting for bridal fashion. Pre-loved designer gowns can be searched by size, designer, silhouette, location and budget, giving beautiful pieces the opportunity to be worn again rather than disappearing into the back of a wardrobe.
That circular approach extends across the wedding itself.
“There are so many incredible wedding pieces sitting in garages, wardrobes and storage units around New Zealand right now,” says co-founder Haley Keals.
For CM, Slay My Day represents an interesting shift in New Zealand wedding culture. Couples still want an elevated, individual celebration, but luxury no longer has to mean everything is new. Hiring, recycling and buying pre-loved can be part of the aesthetic rather than a compromise to it.
With hundreds of vendor listings already on the platform, Keals and Court are building towards something bigger: one destination that can stay with couples from the first stages of planning through to passing their wedding pieces on to someone else.
Less waste. More considered spending. Great style. That’s a wedding evolution CM can get behind.
