I have borne witness to many of the pricks and prods that are common in the world of beauty today. Your face is your fortune and I hear of women (and men!) spending said fortune for treatments that offer little results and cause some serious pain. Not to mention many the red face of guests that I have seen at an event post treatment offering full disclosure of their latest fast face fashion treatment that is seemingly plaguing the world today with false promises of eternal beauty. Did I see paining the world today? I digress.
The time and investment that we all put into beauty today needs to be a reward that can be witnessed. Introducing SQT Bio-Microneedling. The SQT facial sets itself apart. With no blood, (almost) no redness and no needling device, it does away with almost everything you’d expect from a microneedling procedure in a 100% natural way. In place of a derma roller or a derma pen, the SQT facial uses spicules from a freshwater sponge to do the work naturally. These are massaged into the skin and while it is not painless, it is far less painful than your commonly known microneedling treatment. There are no tools or tricks involved here. Human hands do the work and the spicules stay in until they fall out after about 72 hours post treatment. These are tiny, microscopic spicules that are natural and permeate the basal layer of the skin evening out pigmentation and hydrating the skin. They stimulate the skin-healing response and are safe to use on all skin types, including acne prone skin. No traditional needling device can create the amount of channels that SQT Bio-Microneedling can in one treatment.
The drawbacks are the skin sensitivity that lasts a few days. I had a bit of flaking that wasn’t alarming but it was noticeable. Opting for fresh pillow cases and protection with a stylishly large hat protect the skin and allow the treatment to work. Nicola Austin of Merivale Health and Beauty introduced me to SQT. She told me the truth about the treatment, the after care involved and said that they results could be seen within a few days of the first SQT facial. I was dubious but after the first treatment, I was sold. With 3 more treatments to go, I couldn’t even imagine better results than what the first one had offered my face. I was “glowing”. Those were the words of a stranger who stopped me at Ballantynes to comment on my makeup free face. About that. In my efforts to be fully committed I went makeup free to retain the benefits of each week’s treatment. I didn’t want any interference with my commitment. The results: I just look fresh. I had less noticeable dark circles, more even skin tone and I truly believe that my skin care products are more effective than ever. I invest in Nimue products which just so happen to be our featured product of the month!
I have full faith in Nicola Austin at Merivale Health and Beauty. Her decades of experience, skill and prompt responses to my questions throughout my skin experiment is worth its weight in gold. Nicola Austin wants us to live in our best skin, apply sunscreen regularly and take care of the largest organ in our bodies on a regular basis. Her knowledge of the SQT skin innovation is unmatched in the city and the question is:
Would I go through this endeavour again?
A: Without a spicule of doubt, I would.
