Helen Ashton is back with a NEW destination.

NEW YORK – NEW YORK!

There is no such thing as a bad time to visit New York.  It was listed as one of the top destinations to visit for 2025.  My first experience was for the 2000 New Year.  British Airways offered agent flights for $95 GBP return, but the twist was you had to fly on 31st Dec and back in the 1st!  A whirlwind trip indeed.  I would recommend more than 24 hours!  It was an unreal experience which I will never forget – seeing the ball drop-in Times Square for New Year was certainly a bucket list experience fulfilled for me!If you are not restricted to when you can travel, then….December to February - New York is covered in Twinkling lights, with the famous Rockefeller Centre Christmas Tree, ice skating, beautiful window shop displays and a mix of goodwill and retail madness.June to August is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors with heaps of events including the popular US Tennis Open.In July join the locals who escape to Long Island or to the beaches only a subway ride away.Cultural events hit the city September to November, with Broadway openings and Art Exhibitions.

Here are some of my must-see attractions and sights that make New York SO special:

Iconic Landmarks and Attractions

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

The Flatiron Building

Chelsea Market

Walk the High Line

The Oculus

Empire State Building

Times Square

Brooklyn Bridge

Central Park

9/11 Memorial and Museum

Cultural Experiences:

Broadway

Museums

Diverse Neighbourhoods

Art Galleries and Street Art

Music Venues

New York is also a Foodie Paradise due to its array of culinary options reflecting the very diverse cultural influences.

It boasts a vibrant scene with everything from Michelin starred Restaurants to casual Street Food – something for every palate and budget. It’s a great idea to do a New York City Food Tour, another awesome way to experience many of New Yorks cuisine offerings in a few hours so that you can plan your restaurant visits for the rest of the trip.

I would love to help you out with your next visit to City that never sleeps! No matter what your accommodation budget 2 star to 5 star I can help you!! Get in touch today and let’s plan your next “Big Apple” adventure! H xx
